St. Simons Island

St Simons IslandSt. Simons Island is a unique environment not found anywhere else on the East Coast.  A year-round community with the attractiveness of beach-golf-resort life, graced by the Atlantic Ocean, bound by endless marshes and coastal rivers and sheltered by majestic oaks draped in Spanish moss.  It is a place where nature takes second billing to none except, perhaps, when the firecrackers fly over the Pier on the 4th of July.

Rich in history, there are tabby ruins scattered throughout the Island harking back to the days of early settlers and the later plantations that dominated the Island for generations.

Development on the Island is a mix of old and new, lots of new.  Old beach cottages, bungalows and ranch-style homes are giving way to new construction, mostly in the form of grand condominiums and subdivisions designed with luxury or upscale living in mind.  Ocean front, marsh, deep water and golf course properties are highly sought after with prices soaring over the years, reflecting the increased demand.

For the purpose of real estate, the Brunswick-Glynn Board of REALTORS® divides St. Simons Island up into 4 sections.  Each section tends to have it's own unique characteristics and runs as follows:
